Industrial OEM project: cabinet build and power distribution.
A multi-phase build for one OEM customer. 11 VFD cabinets, a NEMA 4X process cabinet, and 13 Siemens panelboards. Same shop, same standard, same scheduled delivery.
11 PowerFlex 750 VFD cabinets across 2,050 HP for an industrial OEM
The challenge
An industrial OEM customer needed VFD cabinet capacity for a multi-stage process line. Mixed horsepower fleet across two motor classes. Allen-Bradley platform standardized for spares commonality with the rest of the customer's facility. All cabinets factory-built, factory-tested, shipped on schedule.
What we built
- 7 cabinets with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 750 VFDs at 150 HP each (1,050 HP total)
- 4 cabinets with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 750 VFDs at 250 HP each (1,000 HP total)
- 11 cabinets in total, 2,050 HP combined drive capacity
- Build-to-print from customer drawings and BOM
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 wiring practice on every cabinet
- Factory acceptance test on every cabinet with continuity records and signed sign-off
The result
11 cabinets delivered factory-tested with full FAT documentation. On schedule.
Standards met
NEMA 4X outdoor process cabinet with integrated AC and pneumatic interlocks
The challenge
The same OEM customer needed a corrosion-rated outdoor enclosure for a separate process line. Conditions required NEMA 4X protection plus internal climate control to keep panel electronics in spec. Process required two VFDs at 25 HP each plus a pneumatic-switch network for safety interlocks.
What we built
- NEMA 4X corrosion-rated outdoor enclosure
- Integrated air conditioning unit sized for ambient and internal heat load
- 2 PowerFlex 750 VFDs at 25 HP each
- Pneumatic-switch network for process and safety interlocks
- Internal layout designed for thermal management and field serviceability
- Factory acceptance test verifying climate control and interlock function
The result
Cabinet shipped factory-tested. Climate control and pneumatic interlocks verified before crating.
Standards met
13 Siemens panelboards. Designed, sourced, factory-built.
The challenge
The same OEM customer needed power distribution capacity scaled across multiple machine cells. Siemens platform standardized for breaker compatibility with the rest of the facility. The customer wanted design, procurement, and factory build handled in one shop to eliminate vendor handoff.
What we built
- Design of 13 Siemens power distribution panelboards
- Specification, breaker selection, and busbar routing per customer standards
- Procurement and component verification
- Factory assembly and labeling
- Continuity and breaker-position testing per FAT plan
- One vendor accountable from drawings through ship
The result
13 panelboards delivered factory-assembled. Each unit FAT-tested before crating.
Standards met
